Shed Coming Together as Shedders Come Together

The Shed was a  hive of activity on Friday. Lots of buzz.

On Thursday we received from Howden a kitchen double unit and today Paul under the instruction of Pat put it together. It holds plates and bowls and kitchen utensils

Electrics to be done and then cabinet can be properly fitted.

.Shedders Mick and Graham laid the vinyl flooring in the switch room which houses the two lathes and larger equipment.

Black flooring, tarpaulin dust sheets, black tape. All sealing against dust.

The second lathe in position too

The Portakabin is looking very different inside and out  to when the Shed first moved in.

Brought this morning on a roof rack were ply planks that will become the cleated walls in the main workshop.

What our wall might look like ultimately. Clever Cleats.

On the rack!

Scotty Dave’s vinyl decorations done for The Café Cart of The Doing Place, a new venture in Whitby facilitated by Whitby Town Shed with funding for suicide prevention.

Good that Norton Shedders help other Sheds.  Appreciated Dave.

Saturday had Graham laser levelling in the masking tape for the amber stripe in the Ancients’ club house. A sunny afternoon so work continued to painting the metal steps leading up to the patio door. Nigh on invisible with black steel work against the black exterior of the Portakabin.

It’s the first football of the new season next Wednesday. We want to present our best face to the crowd!

It’s not just the destination, its the journey too.

Here are three stations today on the journey to finishing the Portacabin Shed.

Pat’s work (assisted by Paul)  to hide waste pipe. Removable.

The French cleats up on one wall with a cleat attachment that will soon hold screwdrivers. All movable of course. Thanks Mike.

Door from Staithes Shed. Originally rescued from a skip! To be used for new access to machine room.

More amber stripes in the Football Club house.
