Welcome to the start of Norton Men’s Shed

We’ve got going on one preliminary of the preliminaries! A small step maybe. It is a display for Norton Men’s Shed destined for use at Norton Library later in January  (Covid-19 permitting).

It has already been used at St. Mary’s Christmas Fayre in November.

Building up the display. Backcloth (printed in Germany!) would make nice pyjamas

Another preliminary is this web-site that will become a bulletin board connection for Norton Shedders and  the outside world.

  1. Congratulations Graham and the Norton Shedders. I wish you every success and will follow your journey with much interest. If he hasn’t already done so, Graham will tell you the story of how we met and the friendship that has been forged through Shedding.
Merry Christmas to you all and a very Happy and hopefully better New Year,
    Len

    • It’s quite a team effort, Len. That’s not surprising, of course. We are at the starting blocks but 5 men have come forward to give it a go in January. Len and wife Ros live on the hot Gold Coast in Australia. We first met by accident in a garden centre café in Whitby in 2016 as they were literally passing through on a UK . Len’s Shed is at Labrador but he had been involved in helping start around a dozen Sheds in his region. He is currently on the Board of the Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA). Len was a great encouragement and source of wisdom for the Whitby District Sheds and will, I hope, do the same for Norton Shed. It’s good to take a look elsewhere. I’ll put a page on NORMENS web-site showing a two or three Aussie Sheds, the forerunners of Sheds in the UK.
