Progress on Anthony’s Dream plus something to give Steve a lift possibly!

Registered Charity Number 1212037

The Garden is flattened.

Added the concrete slab apron to the decking so to all intents its finished as regards the required flatness. A few more decking screws to go in but they can be done with the Man Cave. Anthony is a very pleased customer and pitched in by shovelling gravel onto weed fabric to keep down weeds and level up slabs!

The decking is now able to be used with table and chairs, swing ball and somewhere a football.

Meanwhile Mick & Tony did some work on Friday on the Man Cave  (for Anthony , a new resident soon and the carer team. Soon we will be taking wall panels from the Shed to Anthony’s garden and erecting 3 walls and a roof with guttering. The front face will then be filled in with large glazed units and a door and then insulated and lined. After that internal fit out and electricity to the Man Cave will be added.

We have been looking at disability-friendliness for a while and doing something about it too

Our disability champion Steve has given the thumbs up to what we have been doing so far but the opportunity has come up to possibly do it better.

Why not a wheelchair lift as in patient transport and school minibus vehicles?  We are looking at one at present which works as shown in this video. It splits to create a “clear path” for a non wheelchair user.

Slightly different design of arms to this, also catering for a standing person without a chair.

Great if we could have done this at Whitby Town Shed for Colin.

A photo of the actual wheelchair lift. Good nick and full maintenance log.  With these arms it is about 750mm thick.
