Waving the Flag for the New Year

Registered Charity Number 1212037

Monday 6th January sees the Shed restarting after a Christmas snooze.

However, the Shedders have not been asleep. For a start, preparations (i.e. planning) have continued for upgrading the outside of the portacabin with steel sheeting and new patio door covers.

Then sometimes people find us hard to find. So there is a new sticky blog that provides some navigational assistance. Take a look.

In the earlier days of Whitby District Sheds we had feather flags printed for each Shed, mounted on “fishing rods”. There was a spare stand at Whitby Town Shed so why not use that for Normens with a new printed flag. Basically we can display it when we are in residence but bring it in at the end of sessions.

It’s not yet printed but it is here as a virtual image.

In the antipodes Graham’s son has been busy making a hutch for a pair of guinea pigs that granddaughter will soon be caring for. Ideas for us maybe.

Plus there are some new ideas for 3D printing of photographs (grandson did one as a gift for grandparents!).

It’s much better with light directly behind it but you should be able to see ghostly images of Joan & Graham.

The calendar year has ended and with that the account year.  The CIO Constitution is finalised and awaits on the Charity Commission database for the final signatures (and the finalised accounts). The aim is to submit the application around 25th of the month.

In fact the submission system was down for maintenance from 2oth December until 6th January.

PaulH and Graham are scheduled to try for the third time to break into Holme House prison on 27th January and shortly after that we should learn whether we were successful with a small grant application supporting that.

Then shortly we will be reporting on the grant from Tesco we received last February and should then receive the final quarter of the grant (£250).

Last year in Graham’s absence Wheelchair Steve made a cardboard figure of Graham so that darts could be thrown at it (gently of course). So here is a scanned model of Graham’s torso dedicated to Steve.

Other things will spring to mind but for now the above is sufficient!!
