Why don’t we get some Lego and see what we can build?
This was a suggestion for an activity for those who are less agile these days. So today some was brought back from Whitby Shed. They are some Technical Lego sets with many specialist pieces. What was suggested, however, was that we should obtain the mixed Lego pieces that can be used for freeform building!

We currently live in an aggressive, binary world of “us and them”.
Talk of strengthening borders, building walls, looking inwards rather than expanding our vision …

Can we make a difference? I think we can if we try building bridges within our own spheres of influence …
family, friends, neighbours …
using words that seek to build up rather than tear down …
smiling rather than glaring …
being known for gentleness rather than aggressiveness.

Building bridges has the capacity to create a connectivity that is far more uplifting than division.
Our sphere of influence when the Shed gathers every morning is our Shed, the grounds staff and groups that use the sports complex. At least smile!

Meanwhile the lid went on in Whitby’s IT enclosure
The lid is the false ceiling to the IT enclosure. It feels like a room now rather than a corner of a high ceilinged space open to wood dust! Next Thursday the intent is to substantially finish the enclosure including sorting out the work surfaces! Feels satisfying.
The roof beam was a donation from Norton Shed. Bolted together.
