Crescendo

NORMENS currently feels that things have risen to a small crescendo!

The work of decorating Norton Crocket Club pavilion internally is reaching a conclusion for this year and the smokers’ shelter is nearing completion too. We had a serious clean up on Friday involving Pauline as supervisor and Paul/Graham as serfs. Particularly pleased with the way the carpet came up using one of Gary’s tricks to remove old (and some new!) paint.

Pauline  likes to portray her domination.

Much improved greensward

Commentary box table had a second coat of paint.

That’s what we call a picture window.

Then with regards to our alter ego at St. Michael’s the asbestos is removed and there is a very bare canvas upon which to work.

St. Michael’s hut almost looks welcoming!  Red sacks for asbestos waste.

We can very shortly bring together the equipment we have had donated and in store which will mean we can do some normal types of Shed activity like making planters with Pauline for her back yard.

We are now at the stage when we can receive new Shedders – that’s exciting and will reinvigorate the group.

FINALLY a funding crescendo with notification of a grant of £5000 today.

It is from an application submitted 3 weeks ago to the Lottery’s Awards for All programme.  We should have the money banked by early April.

Our thanks to community supporters.
